Abstract

The purpose. The purpose of this research is rationale for the application of «the reengineering of business processes» in the development of railway tourism in Ukraine as well as working out the practical recommendations for implementing changes. This will revitalize the reduced demand for travel services, help to achieve a better level of satisfaction of the existing demand for tourist railway transportation, better realization of composite demand for tourist railway transportation, regulation of the demand for tourist railway transportation throughout the year, economic breakthrough of all the participants of tourism service market and so on. Methods. The problem of the development of Ukrainian railway tourism has such a methodical base: statistical information given by the Ukrainian CBS, study of foreign and domestic scientists concerning the reengineering of business processes in the service industry as well as tourism functioning and development in Ukraine. According to authors opinion there is reduced demand for travel services, there is untapped demand for tourist railway transportation, there was an untapped composite demand for tourist railway transportation in the past, there is irregular demand for tourist railway transportation, there is a need to implement the reengineering of business processes for a better development of railway tourism in Ukraine as well as for achieving a better level of customer satisfaction and improving the competitiveness of railway enterprisers and so on. Results. The article analyzes the information given by CBS concerning some types of tourist transportation in Ukraine (including railway transport), the flow of domestic tourists in Ukraine, the number of excursionists etc. The authors substantiated some efficient suggestions for future development of railway tourism in Ukraine and explored some features of the reengineering of business processes implementation. This will ensure better customer satisfaction concerning railway tourism services in Ukraine, improve the level of regional economic development in certain areas of Ukraine as well as the national economics as a whole. Scientific novelty. The authors of the article proved: management of the reduced demand for travel services is possible and necessary. To achieve the effective development of railway tourism in Ukraine it is necessary to implement the reengineering of business processes. The article gives some practical steps for the market of tourist railway transportation, taking into account the interests of all business partners, their cooperation that will increase level of their economic development, harmonious relationships with consumers and society. The practical significance. Practical implementation of suggested steps will give an opportunity to achieve better financial and economic results to all the participants of railway transportation, ensure a higher profitability level, present Ukraine as a tourist state, increase the satisfaction of derived demand for attendant travel services and products.
